Demo mode

New workspaces start in demo mode. You get sample people, org units, and resources so you can click through the product without wiring SCIM or OAuth.

What is sample

  • A small directory (departments and teams)
  • Mock Google Workspace and Slack connections
  • Linked groups, a shared drive, a calendar, and channels
  • On each imported unit, Find matches for recommended resources to attach (sample names — there is no live app catalog)

Membership changes run against in-product mocks. Nothing is written to real Google, Slack, or other systems.

How you know you are in demo mode

  • A Demo chip in the top bar
  • A Demo mode banner under the top bar
  • Mock connections labeled Demo on Connections

Exit demo mode

Use Exit demo on the banner, or Settings → General → Demo mode. You will be asked to confirm.

Exiting deletes all sample data — demo people, mock Google/Slack connections, sample resources, and empty demo org units — so Connections is empty for a real install. Your workspace name and plan stay.

Then connect a real identity provider and target apps as usual.

Turn demo mode on again

Only when the workspace is still clean:

  • No active real app connections
  • No SCIM token

If you already connected production systems, disconnect those first. Demo mode is for evaluation and sales walkthroughs, not mixed live+mock tenants.
